Enchanted April (1992)

I watched the film ‘Enchanted April’ yesterday and I feel good about it.
It centers around 4 women who want to get away from their lives as they’re living them.
It passes the Bechdel test, completely (more than 2 female characters with names who talk to each other about subjects other than men).
They use their own money to rent a castle and they become happier because of their respective decisions to do so.
What I thought was great is that they don’t just live out an escapist fantasy. They run away a bit, realize what they’re running from, and turn and face it. Now that’s a feminist.
