‘The Knot’ is to be performed as a staged reading by the DreadNought production company. Written by a local, female playwright in her 20s, this story treats women’s sexuality, career choices, and much more, from a female perspective. Perceptive and insightful, this is one not to miss!! It also deals with being a writer, and the trials one faces as an artist whose medium is words.
The Dreadnought theatre company’s pamphlet so effectively states: “Dreadnought Theatre Company believes that there is a new wave forming in our society. An era is taking hold of the world. As people, especially young people, we have come to a place where we are becoming comfortable with the abundance of variety in our world. With advancements in the media, literature, the arts and pop culture we have come to accept and celebrate race, gender, sexual orientation, nationality, and politics and are attentive to the current issues and their great importance to the human condition. At Dreadnought Theatre Company, our mission is to put forth productions that embody this new society and all its complexities.”
